What are you Reading?
Yesterday Francis Chan recorded a message for One Prayer. The message was great but what I would like to address is something he said after the message. Sam Roberts asked him what he was reading and he said that he didn’t read much besides the word. Yet it what he said after that “There are so many obvious things in life we know, that we don’t apply. We need to go back and apply those things to our lives.”
Now I’m not a big reader about a book a month and I know people who read about 200+ a year. Now when we look back at the books we read are we taking the time to apply it to our lives or are we just reading it like a romance novel for entertainment. When we read God’s word is it something we are applying our lives?
So true Vince about applying ideas and attitudes that we already know but not doing. Kind of like writing more laws but not even enforcing the ones we already have on the books.
