So today I got my new toy in the mail. What is it you ask? It’s a Gymboss and it helps you take your training to the next level. The GYMBOSS is a small, easy to use, repeating interval timer. This multi-use timer has many versatile functions that make it beneficial to virtually any type of exercise program.
While all you need is your body for a good workout. I’m always looking to go to the next level. It’s much easier to do interval training when you have a timer designed to do just that.

Are you inspiring or do you just think you are inspiring? Are you annoying people while trying to inspire? As much as we would like to think that there is a big difference, there really is a fine line.
Must of us are passionate about something and we want others around up to be passionate about it to. We want our friends, family, coworkers, facebook peeps, and tweeps all to be inspired just like we are. So, what do we do is we shout it from the rooftop! But at what point do we cross over from inspiring to annoying? At what point do people go from “Yeah! I’m starting to get it!” to “I wish you would just shut up!!!”?
My wife calls me a fitness nazi cuz for some reason around her I’m always talking about it. I’m constantly reading articles, studying, and working out. I tell her what to eat, when to eat, and when to workout. We cross the line when instead of inspiring out with our action and how we live we try to inspire people with words and forcefulness. When we start trying to force our passion on the people around us we are no longer inspiring.
We are all inspired by the work we see others do and very few, if any, are inspired by the constant screaming from the roof top of you own personal soap box. So if it’s fitness, feeding the poor, sheltering the homeless, taking care of nature, or sharing your relationship with Jesus – it is your action and the lifestyle you lead that will inspire.

Today’s workout just might be one of my new fav’s. It was rather simple but I pushed myself hard, it consisted of just 2 things. 100m hill sprints and kettlebell swings.
With all the information out there on how to live a healthy life and get fit, it can be overwhelming. One of the things I hear people say all the time is, “I have no idea were to even start”. As a personal trainer and someone who’s loved training for almost 14 years now, even I just want to scream out at all the over the top information and ideas. But it’s not as complicated as it seems. Even with the hundreds of diets and ways to exercise, it really comes down to 3 simple things you need to do to stay fit.
It’s that simple! If you want to make it more complicated you can and that’s what most people do. They spend more time trying to think about it than actually doing it. There’s no way around it: Move, Eat, Sleep. It’s like the legs of a tripod, if you remove one you’ll spend most of your time trying to balance on the other ,2 or some bad substitution. Instead of sleep, you’ll use energy drinks and that just weakens the “eat real food” leg. These little workarounds might work for a while, but soon they’ll catch up with you.
Keep it simple MOVE,EAT, SLEEP get fit and stay fit!
Today’s work out was in 2 parts.
part 2 was 15 secs on then 15 secs of for 4 mins
Today’s workout comes from Monkey Bar Gym. I’ll just say it was’t easy.
With the number of workout and fitness programs numbering in the thousands and growing daily, it can be hard to decide where to start or even where to look. So today I thought we would take a look at what they all have in common. So whether it’s P90x, Crossfit, Yoga, Kettelbells, running, cycling, swimming or workout dance videos. If you understand these 7 things your off to a good start.

Today’s workout is one of my fav’s, running sprints. It gives me chance to compete with my dog Coco and she only 9 months old and really fast. So right next to my house is a church and the have a good size parking lot in front just over a hundred meters and its has a nice up hill slope to it. Not enough that I would call them hill sprints but enough that you know your running up hill.
Disclaimer: Always consult a Doctor before starting any exercise program.
The other day some friends and I were discussing things we don’t allow are children to say. Now this can be a very interesting conversation because what is ok with some families, is not ok with others. Matter of fact even between some spouses. Now I know I’m guilty of hearing my kid say something inappropriate for there age and I just want to laugh. Then I want to know where they heard it and my wife says “you, you say it all the time”. Its hard to control what our children hear all the time unless you just lock them in the house (not sure if that’s legal or good for the kids social skills). Yet what I’ve discoverd is most the things we say or our kids say that we think are inappropriate are said out of an emotinal reaction. So if instead trying to fight with the wide range of words they’ll come up with (like peanutbutter, which you to be fiddle sticks, which use to be heck) Let’s teach them to control their emotions.
I thought I would ask this question the other day on twitter and Facebook “What are words or phrases that aren’t bad but you don’t want your young kids to say?” Hear is what they said.
kendragolden I tell my boys that they can’t say fart in front of ladies. I don’t crack down on them talking about it with each other.
Twisty58 “That’s a bunch of crap”
LKnerl I say the word “arse” quite a bit. It’s technically not a swear word in our house, but I don’t want the kiddos saying it.
jeremydbaldwin shoot-boy-howdy. All one word
JoshSurratt sucks, crap, and “I’ll beat your tail” are a few that my 2 year old gas said lately that went down sideways for me
hopealot “I can’t…”
tka821 I can’t…// I hate…// stupid..//
katieniles I don’t let my 3yo class say “dang,” “hate,” or “heck,” or talk about bodily functions or certain body parts unnecessarily.
UniquebyDesign ‘Stupid’ and ‘Hate’ ….
Cher Musico Rome got “what the…” From some cartoon…they didn’t finish the phrase either but that so had to be stopped….
JoeAnna Thompson ”That’s freakin’ cool!” , “Freaking A”, and yes even “Darn or Shoot” These aren’t “bad phrases” but still fall under the “Substitution” category and “Intent” column.
Nicole McDaniel Duncan lol, my dad use to say when he was mad “john brown” and then I remember the day mom corrected him and ask him to stop saying it cause it was just as ‘bad’ as cursing (wasnt for sure about that)…but anything you say out of emotion- they will repeat
Amber Meinke Granata shut up. Crap.
Debbie Peterson Bynum How about abbreviations too – like LMAO or LMFAO or WTF
Chad Arnold Freakin…, that sucks, what the?
