It’s Time 2 Move

Today’s “time to move” is simple. Just go for a walk. Try for at least 30 minutes if you can go longer try for an hour. Remember the idea is to get moving. You know your own body better than anyone and the only way to make any progress is to start moving.  Remember EAT, MOVE, REST!

Fitness & Finances

When you look at the world of finances and fitness you see a lot of similarities. Let’s take a look at what they have in common and see what finances can teach us about fitness.

One of the first things you need to be successful in your finances is a budget. You have to account for what money is coming in and what money is going out. You need to save for an emergency fund. You have to be smart with your money.

Now, you have to apply the same principles in finance to fitness. What does your fitness budget look like? Most people don’t even have a plan of how they will stay fit.  They are just going through life just hoping somehow they will stay fit. It’s like spending all your money on payday and hoping you win the lotto. The chances are slim to none. It’s when we don’t have a plan, or deviate from it, that we end some place we don’t want to be.

  • You have to track your spending just as you do your eating habits.
  • If you want to get out of debt, you have to be aggressive.  If you want to get fit, you have to be aggressive.
  • You can get in debt a lot faster than you can get out of it.  In fitness, you can eat a whole pizza in a lot less time than it takes to work off all those calories.
  • Your children will learn your spending habits, good or bad. What good or bad fitness habits are you passing on to your children?
  • “I want it now”, this phrase will cause you to buy stuff you can’t afford and eat things your body doesn’t need.
  • Filing for bankruptcy may erase your debt, but not your bad spending habits.  Surgery may change your look, but not your bad eating habits. In both cases most people end up having the same problem because they don’t learn how to fix it.
  • You can work years to get out of debt and ruin it all with a month of bad spending. It’s also true in fitness that years can be ruined in months. Stick to the plan. You’re either moving forward or backwards; there is no neutral.

If you want to be successful in fitness or finances it just doesn’t happen by chance. You need a plan and you need to stick to it. I’m not a financial expert; for that I recommend Dave Ramsey. But if you need help with your fitness budget, I’ll be glad to help. Remember EAT, MOVE, REST!

Its Time To Move

So you’re sitting around watching TV or reading a book or even playing some video games. You know you need to get up and move and do some exercise. Yet your not really sure were to start or what to do. So starting today I’m going to help you out give you a simple exercise a night to do. It’s a place to start something to get you moving. Most of them you can even do while watching TV or in between chapters on your favorite book.

So lets start simple with a squat. Think of it as standing up and then sitting back down. So tonight just start out with 60 air squats. If you can’t follow the exact movements in the video get a dinning room chair and go down that far and then stand back up. Now you don’t have to do them all in a row you can do them in sets of 6 or 10. You can even see how you can do before stopping rest for couple of minutes and start again. I know you can do it so no excuses its time to MOVE!

Remember to start slow at your own pace.
Disclaimer : Before starting this or any exercise program always consults a physican first.

The important thing is to get moving nothing is going to happen when we just sit around.

How High Can You Count?

Does it ever seem like all everyone around you does is complain? Whether you’re at work, the store, out to eat or even church people just seem to be complaining about life. I know sometimes I’m even guilty of this. It’s like no matter what our circumstances might be “good or bad” we find a reason to complain. It’s gotten to the point to where we don’t even  call it complaining we just say we’re stating the facts or just telling it how it is.

  • It’s hot outside
  • I don’t like my job
  • That lady was rude to me
  • I don’t like the clothes my pastor wears
  • There’s nothing but negative stuff on the news
  • I hate what the government is doing
  • That customer is being rude
  • My boss is a jerk
  • I don’t like this
  • It’s cold outside
  • Even complaining about people who complain

So I want to present to you the 30 day challenge called “How high can you count?” It’s simple for the next 30 days just count your blessing and not the complaints.

  • Thankful that I have AC or shade tree
  • Thankful that I have a source of income
  • Thankful I have the money to bless my pastor with a new shirt
  • Thankful I can go out and impact the world for Christ
  • Thankful for the life God has blessed me with
  • Thankful I can show the love or Christ to people no matter how the treat me
  • Thankful for the coats and jackets I own and can share with others
  • Thankful that Christ first loved me

When you begin to count the blessing and we stop complaining. The lives we live being to look a whole lot more like Christ. I image Jesus could of complained a lot but he came to serve and be a blessing not a complainer.

So will you take the 30 Day “How High Can You Count “challenge? Do it and watch it change the way  you see the world and how you can impact it.

Grab your pen and some paper or make and excel document and see how many you count. Then ReTweet it or share it on Facebook

  • It’s not sitting on the couch watching the “The Biggest Loser”
  • It’s not the latest fad diet
  • It’s not a certain look
  • It’s not something you can ignore
