Operating in our weaknesses

weakNow you’re probably saying that’s the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard. There are hundreds of good books and test to help us find our strengths; so we can work in or on them. Then why would I want to operate out of my weaknesses. Now don’t get me wrong I don’t think there is anything wrong with working out of your strengths. God has gifted us in different ways, but if you think about it you only operate out of your strengths. How much do really depend on God?

Consider the great men of the people that God called. Let’s look at Moses who was called to lead God’s people out of Egypt. I’m sure confronting Pharaoh was not a strength so he had to depend on God. How about David, he wasn’t a hired assassin: he was a shepherd who depended on God. The list goes on from every story in the bible.

I could see Moses now taking a strength and personality test. Telling God, hey I’m an INFJ and my strengths are empathy, analytical, input and context. So Lord if you don’t mind finding me something along those lines.

I’m not saying we should not operate in our strengths but that God is our strength.  We should understand that God works in spite of our weaknesses.  We shouldn’t fear them or ignore them.  2 Corinthians 12:4-10

Good one. When we are weak…THEN He is strong! More of Him, less of me.
