Obesity The New Normal

With all the information we have on the dangers of being over weight one might think we would be doing something to fight against it. Yet that  is not the case obesity is becoming  the new normal. Let’s look at the growth rate of obesity in the United states since  1994.

In 1994 less then 19% of the country was obese and many states below 14%.

In 2000 all but 1 state is over 14% obesity rate.

In 2003 we start to see the percentage of obesity is still growing strong. we even began to see states with rates as high as 29%.

In 2006 all but 2 states are over 20% obesity rates.

In 2009 all but 1 state is over 20%. The majority of the county is over25% and 9 states are over 30% obesity rates.

It’s scary to think what will be if this trend continues. That’s why it is important that we all  live a healthy lifestyle.  Let’s not sit around watching TV, eating  unhealthy foods and watch our friends, family, or even ourselves live in poor health. There’s no time like NOW to start living a healthy life. It’s time we all EAT- MOVE -REST

Eat real food, exercise and get the rest our bodies need.
