Great article!! My problem is getting a 2 1/2yr old to try anything with out throwing a tantrum. The kid will eat chicken nuggets, tuna, pizza, and PBand J’s all week long. Oh and the occasional snack of choice. I know its my fault but now what do I do? He loves fruits and veggies (green beans and brocc are his fave) but I cant get him to try pastas, or any other meats. /

As the mom, I struggle with “being too hard” on the kids. I want to do everything for them and I think that comes from me not trusting them enough to do it right. Or, likely, my fear of their failure. I have learned (still learning) that at times, they must fail, possibly several times, before they get it right. It’s so hard for a parent to watch their child trip and fall, but we must realize that they will never be able to fully succeed if they don’t learn how to pick themselves up and dust themselves off. I wish you could have seen the look on her face when I came around the corner and saw her cooking! She didn’t have a “looky what I did” like she looking for credit or a reward, but it was an expression of joy. She LOVES serving others, especially her family. She enjoys taking care of others and I love that about her! We are just so stinkin’ blessed to be her parents!
