Do you want to share with others?

writeDo you have something to share that God has placed  on your heart? Is there something you want to say but don’t have an outlet? Well, I feel like God has laid it upon my heart to open my blog to anyone who would like to share. As the title says it’s “Not About Me” so send me your stories. Whether you wrote it years ago, or its fresh on your mind doesn’t matter. It can be something you experienced previously and have learned from it, or something that simply makes you think.

If you have any questions, feel to ask,  you may contact me at vincelparker@gmail.com.

Stop praying like a punk…..

Was that a little to harsh? Maybe I came on to strong. I’m not trying to offend anyone, but it seems lately that people pray like they don’t believe God is going to do anything. We serve an amazing Holy God who can do exceedingly above and beyond what we ask for. Eph 3:20.

It seems like I hear people all the time praying for speedy recoveries. The other day I found myself praying for a speedy recovery. Are you kidding me? There is no more speedy recovery than a complete healing.  I can see the story where Jesus tells the leper he will be better in 2-3 weeks. Or hey Mr. Blind man, you can see now you just don’t have 20/20 but here are some contacts.

The POWER of prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working.  James 5:16 We are to go to our Great God in confidence. Not like, “You know, God if you want…. I’d like it if you could… you know if you’re not too busy…”, if Elijah had prayed like that it would still be raining.

So here  is my challenge to you myself included PRAY like you know our God is going to take care of it. Nothing is to big for Him nothing is to small. The Lord answered Abraham’s prayers  them and he is still answering prayers now. So pray like it.

Operating in our weaknesses

weakNow you’re probably saying that’s the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard. There are hundreds of good books and test to help us find our strengths; so we can work in or on them. Then why would I want to operate out of my weaknesses. Now don’t get me wrong I don’t think there is anything wrong with working out of your strengths. God has gifted us in different ways, but if you think about it you only operate out of your strengths. How much do really depend on God?

Consider the great men of the people that God called. Let’s look at Moses who was called to lead God’s people out of Egypt. I’m sure confronting Pharaoh was not a strength so he had to depend on God. How about David, he wasn’t a hired assassin: he was a shepherd who depended on God. The list goes on from every story in the bible.

I could see Moses now taking a strength and personality test. Telling God, hey I’m an INFJ and my strengths are empathy, analytical, input and context. So Lord if you don’t mind finding me something along those lines.

I’m not saying we should not operate in our strengths but that God is our strength.  We should understand that God works in spite of our weaknesses.  We shouldn’t fear them or ignore them.  2 Corinthians 12:4-10

Are You An Effective Leader?

How would you answer the question? There are a lot of people who lead others but are they effective. What defines an effective leader. If your not being effective are you even being a leader.

How Do You Spend Your Time?

time-management-clockWhat do you do with your time? If you were to stop and examine a week in your life, how did you spend your time? Is it used to improve your life and the lives of those around you? Do you spend endless hour watching TV. Do you take time with the family and friends?
Let’s think about it they’re 24 hrs in a day a 168 in a week.
Let’s say you work 65 hours a week and sleep 45 hours a week. That leaves 58 hours a week what do you do with that time.
That’s almost 8 hours a day. Now I know this may not be your exact numbers but just take a monument and see where you stand. See what you are doing with you time are you being productive or just letting it go to waste. I’m not trying to tell you what a waste of your time is. Sometimes we don’t think about things unless someone points them out. I know I’m that way sometimes.
So again I ask……………
What do you do with your time?

On Everything……

This weeks video is from The Exodus Movement a group of young men from Oklahoma(my home state). I’ve had the privilege to work with them a couple of times and their heart for the Lord is huge. Enjoy this song speaks big things!

How do you start your day?

start-dayWhat is your morning routine? What are the steps you take to prepare yourself for the days activities? For me it’s pretty basic:

• Wake up 2 hours before I have to be somewhere
• Pray and read my bible
• Personal hygiene
• Find something to wear
• Eat some breakfast
• Make sure I have everything I need for the day

Then its time to kiss my lovely wife, tell her I love her and out the door I go. I believe how you prepare is how you will succeed. That includes your getting ready for the day. Do you set yourself up to succeed or to fail? Do you start you morning off to be at you best or just get thru the day.

I guess the better question would be how do you prepare for the day?

What is going……………

So it’s been a minute since my last blog. Not sure why maybe just the season I was in. now I’m excited to get back to writing daily it was good for me and love to express what Jesus is doing in me. Recently I had the chance to sit down with some amazing men of God and have them speak into my life. This was a huge step out of my comfort zone. It was great to learn and take in the wisdom of those who know more than I do. One of the ways in which I was challenged was to pick 3 words in areas I would like to see growth in and weight them against what is happing in my life. This was an amazing piece of advice so much that I challenged my wife and a friend to do the same.
The words I choose are: marriage, discipline, intentional, build, relationships
So each week I will see how the previous week looked in these areas and how the upcoming week looks. I’m excited to start writing on a regular basis and share how God is working in my life.
