Was that a little to harsh? Maybe I came on to strong. I’m not trying to offend anyone, but it seems lately that people pray like they don’t believe God is going to do anything. We serve an amazing Holy God who can do exceedingly above and beyond what we ask for. Eph 3:20.

It seems like I hear people all the time praying for speedy recoveries. The other day I found myself praying for a speedy recovery. Are you kidding me? There is no more speedy recovery than a complete healing.  I can see the story where Jesus tells the leper he will be better in 2-3 weeks. Or hey Mr. Blind man, you can see now you just don’t have 20/20 but here are some contacts.

The POWER of prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working.  James 5:16 We are to go to our Great God in confidence. Not like, “You know, God if you want…. I’d like it if you could… you know if you’re not too busy…”, if Elijah had prayed like that it would still be raining.

So here  is my challenge to you myself included PRAY like you know our God is going to take care of it. Nothing is to big for Him nothing is to small. The Lord answered Abraham’s prayers  them and he is still answering prayers now. So pray like it.

prayerWill you really or are just saying that. Don’t get me wrong I know you mean to pray for that person. Yet do we, I would like say that I do every time, but I don’t. Why is that, I suppose it’s because we get busy, forget or just don’t even have much of a prayer life at all.

So how do we fix this, something I like to do is write it down keep a list; then during my prayer time, pull up the list and pray for the people on it. I’m sure God is o.k. with us reading from a list (if not I’m in big trouble). What happens when we forget to write it down we are back at square one. So what do we do……………I GOT IT! Why not instead of saying I’ll pray for you, why not stop and actually pray for them on the spot. When I think about it I’m not sure why I don’t just stop what I’m doing and pray for that person?

“I’ll pray for you” is more than a fell good statement you make. It’s not like bless you after someone’s sneezes. You have made a commitment to take what ever is bothering this person before an amazing, Holy God. Who can do anything and all we have to do is take it before Him.

So think about this way you just told someone thats not a believer you would pray for them, and you don’t pray and they walk away thinking you will. Then what you said you would pray for doesn’t get better. I wonder what that non believer thinks of prayer now. They might just think our glorious God is not as big as we say He is all because we didn’t pray.

Now I know this isn’t every scenario, but the point is saying “I’ll pray for you ” is more than a fell good statement.
