The Conversation

Seems like almost everyday I have the same conversation.   People seemed to be more obsessed about what I eat then what I do. So today I thought I share with you how one of those conversations. Get ready cuz here goes…

Them: What are you eating?

Me: Egg and spinach sandwich and some baby carrots on the side.

Them: Looks good but I could never eat anything like that.

Me: Oh? It’s good, but why couldn’t you eat like this?

Them: I like food to much.

Me: You do know this is food?

Them: Yeah, I know its food but I mean real food like muffins, cup cakes, and peanut butter and jelly sandwiches.

Me:  Oh I see. That’s what you call real food?

Them: Well, I think what you eat is real but I would need some ranch dressing. By the way, you look like you work out.  I am wanting to get in shape, you got any tips?

Me: Sure, I’d love to help. It’s simple to get in to shape but it does require you to put in some work.

Them: I’m ready to go; just tell me what to do

Me: Well, basically you just need to EAT, MOVE, and REST. Eat healthy –REAL food, Move – exercise 3-4 times a week, and Rest – get good sleep and manage your stress level.

Them: Oh, that sounds great but don’t you have something else?

Me: No

It’s Time 2 MOVE

Today’s MOVE is the pushups Now if you cant do a traditional pushup you can go to your knees and do a modified version. If you still need to scale it down just stand up and do a wall push up. Remember the idea is for you to get moving. So if you are just starting out take it easy just do 25. If you just haven’t work out in a few months then your goal is 50 or more. If it’s just been a week then you need to do a 100.

It’s time to MOVE!

Its Time To Move

So you’re sitting around watching TV or reading a book or even playing some video games. You know you need to get up and move and do some exercise. Yet your not really sure were to start or what to do. So starting today I’m going to help you out give you a simple exercise a night to do. It’s a place to start something to get you moving. Most of them you can even do while watching TV or in between chapters on your favorite book.

So lets start simple with a squat. Think of it as standing up and then sitting back down. So tonight just start out with 60 air squats. If you can’t follow the exact movements in the video get a dinning room chair and go down that far and then stand back up. Now you don’t have to do them all in a row you can do them in sets of 6 or 10. You can even see how you can do before stopping rest for couple of minutes and start again. I know you can do it so no excuses its time to MOVE!

Remember to start slow at your own pace.
